Be Fruitful
Sunday, October 9, 2011 at 10:00AM Speaker: Toby Soechting
Scripture: Galatians 5:16-26
INTRODUCTION:
- Paul marveled about the fickleness of the Christians at Galatia.
- Paul set the choice before the Galatians of freedom or bondage.
- In order for a Christian to “bear fruit” he must gladly receive the Word of God (cf. Acts 2:41).
DISCUSSION: AM I FRUITFUL --
I. IN MY ACTIONS TOWARD OTHERS (V. 22)?
- Do I love?
- Am I longsuffering?
- Am I kind (cf. Eph. 4:32)?
- Is good a word that describes me?
II. IN MY PERCEPTION OF AND ATTITUDE TOWARDS SELF (V. 23)?
- Am I meek (Cf. Mt. 11:29)?
- Do I have control of myself?
III. AND FULLY AWARE OF THE BENEFITS AVAILABLE TO ME AS A CHRISTIAN?
- Joy.
- Peace.
- Faithfulness.
Conclusion: Life in Christ, provides wonderful things, and there is absolutely no law against them! God so wants us to enjoy these things, that He gave us His Son to die on the cross
